WASHINGTON — The Portland Timbers continued their winning ways and road success with a 2-0 victory Saturday night over floundering D.C. United.

Forward Rodney Wallace scored in the 21st minute, and Darlington Nagbe scored in the xx minute. Wallace's fourth goal of the season came on a hard, left-footed shot from just inside the penalty area.

The Timbers' unbeaten streak is 11 games, a franchise record in MLS play. Portland improved to 5-1-7 and to within three points of FC Dallas, which leads the Western Conference.

D.C. United hasn't won in its last 10 games. That ties the franchise worst. Its only win was 1-0 over Real Salt Lake on March 9.

The home led in possession, 52.2 percent to 47.8 percent, and each team had six corner kicks.

Donovan Ricketts made two saves for Portland, while Bill Hamid had three saves for D.C. United.

The announced crowd at RFK Stadium was 14,131.
