A 25-car pileup injured three people Monday afternoon on Interstate 84 between Corbett and Rooster Rock State Park.
The vehicles were involved in approximately five different crashes spread out over a mile and a half on westbound Interstate 84 between Corbett and Rooster Rock state park, at about 4 p.m. Monday, May 27, said Oregon State Police Senior Trooper Duane Larson.
Torrential downpours, wet roadways and heavy Memorial Day weekend traffic contributed to the collisions, he said.
Lt. Gregg Hastings, state police spokesman, doesn't believe any of the injured were local residents. They were treated for non life-threatening injuries at Legacy Mount Hood Medical Center, Legacy Emanuel Hospital & Health Center and a third unknown hospital, he said.
No names have been released at this time.
State troopers, Multnomah County Sheriff's Office deputies, Corbett-based Multnomah County Rural Fire Protection District #14 firefighters, American Medical Response paramedics and state transportation officials responded to the scene.
The crashes closed the westbound lanes for approximately 90 minutes.
Some of the vehicles had to be towed from the area.
No citations were issued.
