Burglary
A man living in the 2600 block of South Troutdale Road came home from work around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 15, to find coins scattered in his driveway, the front door open and inside, drawers and cupboards open and rummaged through.
He reported to police an unknown suspect entered his home through the back garage door and stole multiple electronic items, including a 46-inch Sony TV, a Panasonic camera, a laptop computer, an 8g iPod and a jar of coins worth an estimated $300.
The man told police he has been burglarized two other times in the past three years.
At 5:16 a.m. Sunday, May 19, police responded to a report of a burglary in the laundry room of Motel 6 at 1610 N.W. Frontage Road.
The owner said an unidentified visitor saw a white male wearing light blue pants and black shoes kick in the laundry room door and steal a portable AC unit, according to the police report.
Theft
A thief made off with a Troutdale mans pontoon raft and trailer sometime the night before the victim reported it missing to police at 8:50 a.m. Wednesday, May 15. Last seen parked at his moms house in the first block of Northeast Sandy Del Road, the items were worth a total of $7,000, the man reported.
Police responded to a number of car prowls in southwest Troutdale neighborhoods, four of which were reported to have occurred between 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 21, and 8 a.m. Wednesday, May 22, in the blocks of 500 Southwest 15th Street, 1600 Southwest 22nd Street, Southwest Wright Place and 1800 Southwest Spence Avenue.
A range of items were stolen from mostly unlocked vehicles, including jewelry, wallets, bank cards, a concealed handgun license, a GPS unit and coffee mugs.
