Victim in fatal shooting identified

Police have identified a man who was fatally shot Sunday night at a Gresham apartment complex as Andreas Prince Jones, 21, of Portland, said Lt. Claudio Grandjean, Gresham police spokesman.

Just before 7 p.m. Sunday, June 9, Gresham police responded to multiple 9-1-1 calls reporting a shooting in the 19100 block of Southeast Burnside Street, Grandjean said.

In the parking lot at Rockwood Station apartments, officers found a man who'd been shot. Paramedics immediately treated him, but he died at the scene.

Gresham police continue to looking for the shooter, described as an African-American man who ran from the scene heading east through the apartment complex. The suspect is in his early 20s with 2-inch dread-lock style hair. He is between 5-foot-11-inches tall and 6-foot-1-inch tall and weights approximately 160 pounds.
