Fairview

CRASH

n A red dump truck driving with its bed in the upright position struck a signal cross bar at the intersection of Northeast 223rd Avenue and Halsey Street around 11:45 a.m. Tuesday, June 4, leaving a light for eastbound traffic on Halsey hanging by its wires, witness told police.

The dump struck pulled over and stopped, but left before police arrival, a witness said. Police notified road crews to repair the light. The crash is considered a hit and run.

CRASH

n At 4:43 p.m. Monday, June 3, a woman was doing yard work at her home when she heard a car crash into a mailbox at a residence in the 1500 block of Northeast 205th Avenue. She looked over the fence and saw a black two-door car pull out from the driveway of the residence and drive away. The witness told police the driver was a male, but she could not provide any other information.

Police notified the resident of the damaged mailbox. There are no leads on the suspect or vehicle, police said.

WARRANT

n At about 1:56 a.m. Saturday, May 25, police arrested Precious Jackson,23, at the 22700 block of Northeast Halsey Street on a warrant out of Washington County. Jackson allegedly was trying to enter an apartment, though no crime was committed, when police took her into custody.

CAR THEFT, RECOVERY

n At 6:14 p.m. Tuesday, May 28, Gresham police recovered a 1996 light blue Honda Accord confirmed stolen in Fairview the morning before. The victim told police she had last seen her car in the parking lot of an apartment complex at the 20600 block of Northeast Halsey Street. The car was found in the area of 19700 Northeast Flanders Street in Gresham. Police contacted the owner and escorted her back to her car.

ATTEMPTED THEFT

n An unknown person attempted to siphon gas from a resident’s Ford Ranger during the night Thursday, May 30. The victim, who lived in the 100 block of Southeast 16th Circle, reported to police at 7:52 p.m. that no gas was taken from the truck, but the person left a gas and siphon hose next to the truck.

BURGLARY

n At 6:59 p.m. Monday, June 10, a resident reported a burglary at his residence in the 1500 block of Southwest 25th Street. The victim told police that while he was in town, an intruder broke into his home through a back window and stole 40 rolls of uncirculated quarters.
