Centennial wins third game of spring break 7-1 over Rex Putnam
CLACKAMAS Centennials softball team found the winning track at the Hoodview spring break tournament putting together a three-game streak capped by Wednesday afternoons 7-1 win over Rex Putnam.
The Eagles broke the game open with a two-out rally in the second inning. Niki Misenhimer and Chelsey Miller connected on back-to-back singles and found their way home on Natalie McDonalds two-run shot to left field to put Centennial up 3-0.
The team strung together three more hits in the seventh inning to stretch the lead to 7-0 before Rex Putnam pushed across its only run when it was down to its final out.
Centennial pitcher Katie Walker retired the side in order twice, including a quick trip through the heart of the order in the sixth inning to secure the victory.
