Coastal Farm and Ranch is offering a unique opportunity at a cheep price Saturday, March 30, when 500 baby chicks will be looking for new homes.
Beginning at 8 a.m., residents can take their pick of the peepers for free, as long as they also purchase 25 pounds of chick starter to help the little critter grow.
This is an opportunity for hands-on learning by kids, said Buzz Wheeler, owner of Coastal Farm and Ranch. With the help of their parents, kids can raise and take care of a baby chick, feed it and watch it grow because of their hard work. Were excited about spring, and theres nothing cuter than a bunch of baby chicks running around.
More than 6,000 pullets were delivered to the companys 12 stores in the Northwest, from the Dunlap Hatchery in Caldwell, Idaho, for the event. There is a limit of five baby chicks per household while supplies last.
Coastal Farm and Ranch is at 2865 N.E. Hogan Drive. For more information, call 503-674-5337.
