Police find gun, two knifes in the felons possession
A Gresham man is behind bars accused of an armed robbery at a department store in Portland's Parkrose area.
Jimmy Miles Duffey, 31, of Gresham is being held on $257,500 bail at the Multnomah County Inverness Jail on allegations of first-degree robbery, being a felon in possession of a firearm and interfering with police.
He allegedly threatened a loss prevention officer with a knife after being confronted for shoplifting at Kohl's Department Store, 10010 N.E. Halsey St., on Oct. 27, said Sgt. Pete Simpson, Portland Police spokesman. The suspect then fled the scene.
Crime Stoppers of Oregon released an image from surveillance video of the suspect asking for help identifying the man. A tip came in identifying him as Duffey.
Police arrested Duffey at 11:25 a.m. Monday, Dec. 17, after an officer recognized him coming out of a neighborhood convenience store. The man ran from officers, but they caught him several blocks away near Southeast 174th Avenue and Division Street.
Officers searched him and reportedly found a handgun and two knives in his possession.
Duffey also is being held on a $7,500 Multnomah County hold for an unspecified offense, as well as on $1,234 bail for each of two charges of interfering with public transportation.
