High school music events
Gresham High School, 1200 N. Main Ave., will host its Winter Choral Concert, which features all of the schools choirs, at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19, in the auditorium.
Admission is free, but donations are appreciated. All choir alumni are invited to come up at the end of the concert and sing the Hallelujah Chorus.

Planetarium show
Mt. Hood Community Colleges Sky Theater will present Exploring Orions Secrets and our Winter Sky.
Admission is $2 and free for students with identification. Show times are at 7 and 8:15 p.m. Monday, Jan. 7. For more information, visit mhcc.edu/planetarium.
The Sky Theater is located beneath the library on the Gresham campus at 26000 S.E. Stark St.

Planetarium Director Pat Hanrahan will show visitors the constellations of the winter night sky along with the positions of the current planets and upcoming comet Panstarrs.
Visitors are always encouraged to ask questions during each 45-minute program. Campus parking is free, and no permit is required.
Renaissance band
The Oregon Renaissance Band, a 13-member group, will perform a concert at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 30, at St. Aidan Church, 17405 N.E. Glisan St.
The band will perform As it fell on a holie eve, a selection of Christmas and New Years music by 16th- and 17th-century composers for early instruments and voices. Celtic, Italian, German, English, Spanish and French music will be featured in tunes written by OCarolan, Playford, Praetorius, Holborne, Byrd and Du Caurroy.
Directed by Philip and Gayle Neuman, the group plays violin, viola da gamba, lute, sackbuts (trombones), recorders, cornamusen, bagpipes, racketts, tartold, spinettino, krummhorn, tabor, and others. The program will include the Magnificat by Pachelbels son Charles, who worked in 18th-century South Carolina.
