A Gresham man who used to work for the Transportation Security Administration is behind bars accused of a March bank robbery.

Gresham police detectives arrested Trevor Lee Schindler, 30, at his home in the 2500 block of Southeast Ninth Court without incident at 1:54 p.m. Tuesday, June 4, said Lt. Claudio Grandjean, Gresham Police spokesman.

He allegedly walked into the Wells Fargo Bank in Gresham in the 100 block of Northeast Roberts Avenue on the afternoon of March 12, presented a demand note and made off with $4,767, according to court documents. He was seen driving off in a green Honda Civic.

Police released video and still images of the suspect to the media. Several TSA employees recognized him as Schindler and called detectives, Grandjean said. Schindler was not working for the TSA at the time of the robbery. He'd been fired in November 2012, but former coworkers still recognized him on the news, Grandjean said.

A federal grand jury on May 30 indicted Schindler on a charge of federal bank robbery, leading to his arrest this Tuesday.
