When Seth Marble, an 11-year-old Hartley Elementary School student, wrote a spooky Halloween tale this fall, he had no idea hed be featured on a national childrens television program months later.
Theyve been asking what the story is about, Seth said of his classmates, a grin spreading over his face. They were thrilled to learn about the TV spot right before winter break.
Seths story, The Moon Ate My Home, will air on Green Screen Adventures of ME TV (broadcast channel 2.2) at 8:30 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 30, on Comcast Channel 302 and Verizon Fios 464.
Its very exciting, said Larry Conley, principal of Hartley Elementary. Seth is a stand-out writer.
Green Screen Adventures is a national childrens television series that features stories written and illustrated by students in first through fifth grades and brings them to life with actors.
Seths mother, Melissa Marble, a poet herself, learned of the program and encouraged Seth to submit a story this fall.
His next story, already in the works, is about two kids at a school who are superheroes.
Seth is humble, contributes in class and has endless compassion, Conley said.
Seths dad, Chris, said Seth was a very intelligent child and a very good brother to his little sister Tina.
