When Seth Marble, an 11-year-old Hartley Elementary School student, wrote a spooky Halloween tale this fall, he had no idea he’d be featured on a national children’s television program months later.

“They’ve been asking what the story is about,” Seth said of his classmates, a grin spreading over his face. They were thrilled to learn about the TV spot right before winter break.

Seth’s story, “The Moon Ate My Home,” will air on “Green Screen Adventures” of ME TV (broadcast channel 2.2) at 8:30 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 30, on Comcast Channel 302 and Verizon Fios 464.

“It’s very exciting,” said Larry Conley, principal of Hartley Elementary. “Seth is a stand-out writer.”

“Green Screen Adventures” is a national children’s television series that features stories written and illustrated by students in first through fifth grades and brings them to life with actors.

Seth’s mother, Melissa Marble, a poet herself, learned of the program and encouraged Seth to submit a story this fall.

His next story, already in the works, is about two kids at a school who are superheroes.

“Seth is humble, contributes in class and has endless compassion,” Conley said.

Seth’s dad, Chris, said Seth was a very intelligent child and a very good brother to his little sister Tina.

Seth’s story is available under the second page of videos at greenscreenadventures.tv/videos/index.php?video+1243548.
